BAD PART OF TOWN- NOT SAFE AT NIGHT OUTSIDE HOUSE- converted 4 apartments in residential subdivision; but a real hostel atmosphere-lots of dinnerware and silverware, pots pans, knives, plastic wrap, aluminum foil etc. Phones in all common areas free local calls. Must walk 2 blocks 2 bus stop and this is a long way in pouring down rain or bad snowstorm. 2 computers but very expensive to use or pay for wireless. MUST LEAVE AFTER 3 NIGHTS A MONTH which is a big drawback in Alaska. Mostly really young people just out of high school. Supervision, management rarely there. 4 kitchens, baths etc. Come and Go whenever; but Quiet time observed. FREE LOCKERS, BRING YOUR OWN LOCK with 1st come 1st serve. Clean; but owner letting run down as this location has been 4 sale for couple of years and he is putting all money and work into new one close to Denali. Can work to get free night.
