A certified, Waldorf trained teacher opens “Primrose Garden Preschool”, a Waldorf inspired class offering Japanese immersion program, in August 2012 at Calvary Church, 3800 W. 80th St. Anchorage, and both Japanese and English are used for instruction. We value children’s well-balanced development including cognitive, physical, emotional and social elements by offering sensory artistic activities in a play-centered, child-centered environment. Children will learn self-confidence, positive attitude, socialization, diversity of culture, and Japanese language. It is important for children to have experiences in a safe, positive and accepting environment with an adult/ child ratio of 1 to 8 or less. The activities are developmentally age appropriate, such as painting, drawing, clay modeling, story telling, movement, crafts, nature play, origami, and Japanese language. AM & PM Preschool Programs Registration for an AM and PM preschool (16 children each) for children who are three years or older by June 1, 2012, has started. The AM preschool is a 3 day program, which meets on Mondays through Wednesdays and starts at 9:30 am and ends at 12:00 pm The PM preschools are 2 day or 4 day programs which meet on Mondays and Tuesdays or on Wednesdays and Thursdays for 2 day programs, and on Mondays through Thursdays for a 4 day program and start at 1:15 p.m. and end at 3:45 p.m.
