McLaughlin Youth Center, located in Anchorage, Alaska, offers a variety of secure detention, alternatives to detention and long-term treatment programs. It provides specialized programs for sex offenders, girls, teenagers and those who have participated in gangs. McLaughlin Youth Center s Community Detention Program offers intensive supervision of youth at home, school and work. The center additionally provides computer classes, homework assistance, drug and alcohol education programs, which fulfills community work service requirements. It operates a community detention school in cooperation with McLaughlin High School for students who have dropped out or expelled. McLaughlin Youth Center organizes several victim impact classes for youth in both detention and treatment. The center offers several after care services, as well as an Intensive Community Supervision Program.
