General Info

The Yiddish Book Center is a lively cultural center that celebrates Yiddish language and culture. Our ten-acre campus in Western Massachusetts calls to mind a shtetl—a small Jewish town or village in Eastern Europe. Inside, visitors will find a lebedike velt (a lively world) of Yiddish culture. In October 2023, we opened our groundbreaking exhibition, Yiddish: A Global Culture which highlights the depth and breadth of modern Yiddish culture through hundreds of objects and personal stories. We also host a diverse array of events including lectures, screening, and our annual Yidstock: the Festival of new Yiddish Music. Visit our calendar of events to stay up to date on our programming. While here, be sure to explore our Writers Garden, picnic in the apple orchard and browse our bookstore for one-of-a-kind gifts, books in Yiddish and English, and more! The Yiddish Book Center is a lively cultural center that celebrates Yiddish language and culture.
