Ames Community Theater of Recreational Services, also known as ACTOR, is a community theater that was founded in 1956. Located in Ames, Iowa, the theatre owns and operates ACTORS Studio, which is a performance facility. It conducts various plays, such as Charley's Aunt, High School Musical, Don't Hug Me: A Christmas Carol, Who's On First, Doubt, Leader of the Pack: The Ellie Greenwich Musical and Crimes of the Heart. Ames Community Theater of Recreational Services additionally provides theater education programs for people of various age groups. The theater maintains a production team of light men, music directors, costume designers, stage managers and musicians. It also provides a range of membership programs for the residents of Iowa.
