- Dental ExaminationA comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. At regular check-up exams, your dentist and hygienist will include the following...
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Teeth CleaningIf slight signs of periodontal problems are present, Dr. Imam may recommend more diligent brushing and flossing habits. This helps remove the bacteria and plaque that cause irritation and infection. When symptoms are moderate, the best treatment is often a deep periodontal cleaning, called root planing and scaling.
- FillingsThere are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You and your dentist can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
- Resin CompositeNatural colored fillings and bonding can restore damage and provide a seamless aesthetic. All of our restorations are amalgam-free to provide healthy, aesthetically pleasing solutions. To ensure you are comfortable during a filling or bonding treatment, Dr. Imam first numbs the affected area. She then carefully and precisely removes any decay and rebuilds your tooth using composite resin. After curing with a specialized light, the composite resin material hardens, and the result is a filling or bonding that does not have a grey or dark appearance but resembles the natural shade of nearby teeth.
- VeneersThese life-like prosthetics are thin coverings for your teeth. After lightly buffing or etching the surface of natural teeth, your veneers are applied. This pre-treatment is necessary to ensure the veneers look natural and do not add bulk.
- CrownsRestoration – Once your tooth has been thoroughly cleaned from the inside out, a dental crown is placed to seal the natural tooth underneath, preventing bacteria from re-accessing the area.
- BridgesA crown restores all of a tooth above the gum line, strengthening bite function and improving aesthetics. Crowns are also used for bridges to replace one or two teeth that are adjacent to healthy teeth. A fixed bridge can enhance your smile and prevent remaining teeth from shifting into the gap.
- Root Canal TreatmentRoot canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.
- Deep CleaningDeep cleaning is more thorough than what occurs at a routine check-up. With the application of a topical numbing agent, this treatment does not feel much different than standard cleaning. Cleaning below the gumline will smooth the roots of teeth and remove bacteria from pockets around the teeth.
- DenturesTraditional dentures have an acrylic base that looks like the gums and a set of replacement teeth. Your dentist will fabricate the denture to fit your jawline, which is held in place by adhesives. Traditional dentures require occasional modifications as the jaw form changes. They are removable and can be cleaned outside the mouth.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by a dentist or Periodontist – a specialist of the gums and supporting bone. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!
- Oral SurgeryRemoval of wisdom teeth is a standard oral surgery procedure for those in their later teens and early twenties. Wisdom teeth can push against the roots and crowns of other teeth, causing discomfort and increased risk for crowding, decay, and gingivitis. Partially erupted teeth are more difficult to clean and usually more trouble than they are worth. Removing impacted wisdom teeth requires a simple surgical process to access the tooth and extract it entirely before sealing the treatment site.
- Tooth ExtractionsIf one or more teeth have been severely compromised due to periodontal infection or trauma, Dr. Imam provides dental extractions and options for replacing teeth that will ultimately restore your smile and your dental health.
- Bone GraftingContrary to traditional dental implants, all-on-four require fewer implants. Only four implants are inserted at angles that make the most of the remnant bone. This minimizes the need for additional bone grafting procedures. Additionally, the recovery time for all-on-four dental implants is significantly shorter. Traditional implants normally have a recovery time of 3 – 4 months. However, with all-on-four, the recovery process starts right after the procedure. You’ll get instant stability and may be able to return to your normal routine in as little as a few days!
- OrthodonticsThese clear orthodontics trays are famous for their convenience. As the trays are simply switched out every few weeks, there are no wires or bands to tighten and change out. Invisalign aligners are made of comfortable, clear plastic, so few people will be able to tell that you’re wearing them. If you choose this alignment system, you will need to be diligent in wearing them the full 22 hours a day. They should only be removed for meals and cleanings to make sure you achieve the best results.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsTo help you get a more beautiful smile, Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth. You wear a set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you replace each set of aligners with the next in the series, your teeth will gradually move until they reach the position the doctor has prescribed for you. The average treatment time is about a year.
- BracesInvisalign is proven technology designed to give you the smile you’ve always wanted, without the pain and anxiety associated with metal braces.
- Teeth WhiteningTooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.
