After many months of wondering if Hickory House BBQ Grill in Amelia was a hidden gem, we now know...it is NOT. If you want to smoke in a hole in the wall bar, go for it (what smoking ban?). If you want ribs that are inedible, go for it. Spent $18 on a full slab of ribs (to go), and we literally threw 3/4 of it in the garbage. Beyond disgusting. Completely dried out, translucent meat. I'm not saying it just didn't taste right or that we didn't like it - I literally was afraid to eat it. It was worth $18 to know never to go there again. I would say that it was just a "bad batch," but this was inexcusable. No one should serve food like that. If I didn't care about smelling like an ashtray again, I would have gone back and demanded a refund.
