Founded in 1861, Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary is a private Catholic school and is a ministry of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. It is an independent coeducational institute that enrolls more than 460 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, world languages and technology education. It also provides instruction in art, music and physical education. Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary offers remedial reading, counseling and speech therapy services to students through the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. Its athletic activities include football, soccer, field hockey, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and softball. Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary is located in Spring House, Pa.
