Hospice of the Comforter is a community-based, nonprofit hospice that has served terminally ill patients in the Florida counties of Seminole, Orange and Osceola since 1990. Hospice of the Comforter offers a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice of the Comforter seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their days may be spent with dignity and quality, at home or in a home-like setting. Hospice of the Comforter's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the spiritual aspect of life's last journey. The center s staff attempts to meet patients and their families at their spiritual comfort level, and they do not impose their own belief systems on patients.
