Find somewhere else to go! I have been going there since moving here in Jan 2012, in the 13 months since then I have been in twice for cleanings. Both time were without incident, and everything went perfectly smooth. The hygienists I saw were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing and talking about. I saw Dr Minetola shortly after the first cleaning to get a drill and fill done. I told him that I have always had a very hard time getting numb from novocaine and that he would likely have to use more than normal in order for him to proceed with the drilling and filling of the tooth. Of course, because I have no idea what I'm talking about and he has had all of 2 minutes experience in dealing with my teeth, he clearly knew better than I and decided to start drilling. I told him I was not numb. But he insisted that we start and I just let him know if I feel anything. As anyone with a shred of common sense can already predict, this is not going to work out very well. About 5 seconds into it. he was through the surface of the tooth and down to the nerve and just about hit the ceiling. He proceeded to yell at me for jerking and told me I have to sit still because his fingers are right there and that drill would hurt if it hit his finger. He gave me more novocaine and then started again. Again I could feel everything. I reminded him that I have been through this many times before and I know when I am numb or not, and I am still not numb. Begrudgingly, he gave me more novocaine then finished the drilling. ---- I went in earlier this week for another cleaning, and was told that this filling was deteriorating and needed to be resurfaced. That's right, 12 months later, the filing is falling apart. So again Dr Minetola came into the room today when it was time for the drilling and filling of the tooth he did last time. And you guessed it he refused to listen to me again, and again started drilling before I was numb. This time, after I told him I was not numb after the first round of novocaine, he tried drilling and I swear I almost jumped out of the window. Once again, I was yelled at for moving. But this time, instead of giving me another novocaine shot, he decided to squirt the novocaine on to the tooth in hopes it would numb the tooth long enough for him to drill it. Obviously, this is moronic, and did not work. After fighting with him back and forth, he finally brought in Dr Ferguson. She was able to get him to agree to more novocaine and once I was numb he drilled it and she filled it. She also kept checking me to see if I could feel her touch or the air blowing on the tooth before she let him continue. She was very patient and gentle with me. She was fantastic when she did a root canal for me. If you are determined to go here, make sure you get Dr Ferguson. STAY AWAY FROM DR MINETOLA. Needless to say, after today's experience, I will not be going back there. My family of 5 will find somewhere else to go that actually listens to you and cares about what kind of agony they put you through.

If only I could leave 0 stars. I went in for a couple of fillings on Tuesday 1/29/2013. Everything seemed to go well and Dr. Minetola did a good job at explaining what he was doing along the way. That is about as far as the good service went. After doing the drilling for the fillings, Dr. Minetola, left the room and his hygienist and an assistant proceeded to install the fillings. Once the procedure was completed I paid the hefty fee and went home. After the local anesthesia wore off my upper jaw began to throb. I took a couple Tylenols and went to sleep only to be woken up several times throughout the evening. I continued to deal with the pain until Friday morning. I called for an emergency appointment and got there around 12pm Friday. Dr. Ferguson took and x-ray and stated that I would need a root canal. Seeing how they do not perform root canals, she simply handed me a prescription for Vicodin and Penicillin for the infection that was causing the pain. Outstanding! I will have to tough through the excruciating pain all weekend until I can see an endodontist. Finally Monday came around. Thankfully the endodontist was able to get me in and give me the much needed root canal. The pain of the infection was by far the most horrific pain imaginable. All of which could have been avoided had Dr. Minetola and Dr. Ferguson (who took the original x-rays) made the right call for the root canal. When it was all said and done, I had to pay for the original filling, the emergency visit (caused by the faulty filling), several prescriptions and on top of it all a root canal. I called Gentle Dental Monday, 1/28/2013, morning to talk to the dentist and let them know that I was unhappy. I explained the situation to the receptionist and she said she would forward the message. That was at 11am. I had not heard a thing as of last evening at 5:30pm. I am supposed to have another appointment this Thursday, 1/31 for another set of fillings. I called Gentle Dental again last evening, this time to cancel my appointment and take my business elsewhere. Upon hearing from me this time, the receptionist's tone was completely unprofessional. She basically told me who cares and see you later. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST OFFICE TO ANYONE! PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE!

The other fillings I received on Tuesday will have to reset by another dentist. The endodontist I had seen for the emergency root canal said they were the worst he had seen in a while. I cannot even get floss in between two neighboring teeth! I wouldn't even go to this dentist for a cleaning!

Truly Gentle Dentistry!

The office staff and doctors are truly excellent. Kind, caring, gentle, and knowledgeable. They don’t recommend or perform procedures that are not necessary. Rates are good and they accept most insurance. Appointments can usually be made quickly, and they offer full service dental and root canal work at the same office. A great experience if there is such a thing for dental work! A great Dentist!
