The studio is in the process of going out of business due to financial issues. Be careful your kids pictures will be printed all flyers that are posted all over OC without your consent. Do not sign your kids for the summer camps, the pictures tell a different story, they are boring and waste of money since the prices increase every year, you will regret it. The owner has had relationships with some of the mothers in the past 10 years. Only kids studio with guns on the premises.

My son and daughter have attended classes at this studio for many years and I have to say it has been a wonderful experience. They have both enjoyed the quality friendships they have made with the other students and the staff at the studio. Master Lockhart has an amazing ability to meet kids right where they are developmentally, and then lead them step-by-step to where they what to be.

Our family has been at Lockhart's Karate for many years and it has been a great experience. The focus, discipline, and self-control my kids have developed through Karate is apparent in all aspects of their lives. They are doing well in school and in their other sports activities and I attribute their confidence to try new things as a direct result of the training they receive from Master Lockhart and his staff. We highly recommend this studio.

Lockhart's Academy is a great place. We have learned a lot from the owner Dan and would recommend his studio to anyone interested in learning self defense.

Master lockhart is just great with kids, he teaches them with lot of compassion, dedicates lots of time and focus on each of the kids until they master what they are doing. He teaches them how to be respectful, focused and concentrated in a really fun and loving environment. Since my daughter joined, she gained lots of self confidence and discipline that are being reflected in her behavior both at home and at school. Both of my daughters also participate in the movie nights that the studio offers occasionally on Fridays and they just have so much fun and are surrounded by so much love and care by all of master lockhart's family. The studio has a great reputation all over the area, everyone I know had a great experience and strongly recommend it.

Master Lockhart and his team and have done amazing things for my 4.5 year old active boy. When he was 3 years old, my son was having some behavioral issues at his preschool and we had tried everything we could to get him to be more attentive to his teachers, sit down during circle time and have more respect for his peers. After 3 months of weekly instructions with Master Lockhart, we had seen a huge improvement in my son's overall behavior. His patience, respect and listening skills improved immensely. His teacher at preschool said that she had seen him do a 180 in his behavior at school and was so pleased with his change. My son has such a high level of respect and love for Master Lockhart and does not want to disappoint him in any way. He is so proud of being in karate and earning stripes on his belt, that he practices constantly at home and tells me that he wants to be a karate master one day just like Master Lockhart. I highly recommend Lockhart's Karate Academy for all kids!!!! We love it and look forward to many many years there with Master Lockhart and his team!

Our son has attended Lockhart's Karate Academy for 4 years now. We enrolled our son here because we both attended one of Lockhart's karate classes at UCI and we loved it! Master Lockhart has taught our son discipline and respect and made it really fun for the kids, all at the same time! Even dad is now attending the adult classes. I enrolled my five-year old son in classes just before he started kindergarten and it has been the best experience a parent could ask for. When I called to inquire, Dan was kind, patient and very knowledgable. I truly appreciated the time he took to discuss my son's individual situation and needs and the advice he had to offer based on those facotrs.

My son has been excited to get to karate class ever since he started and he is learning so much very quickly. Miss lockheart is AMAZING with the little ones!! It is so great to watch the kids have fun while working together and advance in their skills. Both my son and I have been training for many years under Master Lockhart. There is no better martial arts instructor in Orange County. The kids love the classes and learn valuable defense skills and overall discipline. My child has developed exceptional coordination and strength. Studio consists of two rooms and is very clean. Master Lockhart's daughter also teaches and is an expert martial artist. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this studio.

My two oldest grandsons attend Lockhart Academy, and both have been students there since they were 3 years old (6 yrs and 9 yrs now). Dan Lockhart is a great teacher he understands how children learn, and he seeks to help his students grow positively in all aspects of life. The school is clean, very well equipped, and Master Lockhart and his instructors are extremely knowledgeable of the martial arts. Recently he offered to help several of his students, including my oldest grandson, perform a karate demonstration for their school talent show. He donated his own time and literally beamed with admiration and pride when they received a resounding ovation from the spectators. In my opinion he has been, and continues to be, one of the most positive influences in my grandson’s lives

I have two children ages 3 and 6 currently attending Lockhart Karate Academy and we couldn’t be happier with the immediate results we have seen with them. Both children are taking classes for different needs and I was most impressed with the care and concern that Master Lockhart has shown with each child. He is firm, but warm. You can immediately feel that he is sincere in his efforts to help each child achieve their goals through hard work and genuine effort. I have never met an instructor of any kind willing to take the time out of class to sit and help a child through their challenges — be it behavioral, karate-related, etc. Both of my children respect him and his assistants because they feel that they are treated and respected as whole individuals - not just another student. In a world where kids expect instant results and gratification, Master Lockhart’s class have taught our kids that listening, patience, respect, focus, genuine effort and hard work pays off and that the reward for that is instilled in the child’s confidence to go out into the world and know that they are perfect just as they are. I really like how Master Lockhart makes class “fun” for the kids, balancing the fun with fundamental skills of Soo Bak Doo. The time in class goes by so fast! I can’t wait to see more results. The kids, despite having a busy schedule with several enrichment activities after school, always look forward to their karate class.

My sons are 6 and 9 and they both started at Lockhart Karate Academy when they were 3 years old. I can not say enough about Master Lockhart and his staff of wonderful teachers. My kids feel right at home when they are at the studio. It is a excellent place where kids learn not only the physical aspects of martial arts but the underlying principles. I would highly recommend Lockhart's Karate Studio. My son, now eight years old began attending over two years ago and I could not be more pleased with the experience we have had there. Master Lockhart is clearly experienced and talented in his craft, but more importantly he is an excellent teacher and role model. He is patient, yet firm with my son. One of the things I like most about Master Lockhart is that he is invested in my son; in his karate progress, but also his daily life (academics, behavior at home and so on.) He teaches respect, integrity, discipline on and off the studio floor and my son has continued to benefit from his instruction.

My 6 year son started attending Master Lockhart's class about 2 months ago. The impetus for signing him up was due to the fantatic reviews about the academy. My son regularly misbehaved at the Y and school and was not listening at home. The change in him is remarkable, he has gained a lot of confidence and is eager to help and listen around the house. On more than one occasion the Y has praised my son for his helpfulness and good behaviour. And the best part of all of this is my son absolutely loves going to class and is always trying his best. My three boys have been going to Lockhart Karate for almost two years. They love it. The instructors are caring. They are firm yet fun. My boys have learned and progressed nicely. We plan to be here for many years to come.
