Justin Gent, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified physician specializing in Sports Medicine, with special focus in open and arthroscopic complex knee and shoulder surgery, as well as patellar instability procedures. Dr. Gent chose to pursue a career in medicine on behalf of his combined passions in science and making a positive impact in the lives of others. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Chicago, completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and earned his fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. Dr. Gent enjoys caring for patients of all ages and offers a variety of operative and non-operative care solutions to ensure each individual’s needs are met. These offerings may include the use of medications, injections, braces, Physical Therapy, and when necessary, orthopedic surgery. Patients of Dr. Gent feel comfortable and right at home because he treats each as if they were a member of his own family. By putting himself in his patients’ shoes, he is able to understand their needs and goals. To create the best customized treatment, Dr. Gent follows his patients through every step of their treatment plan, offering support and assisting them in recovery to exceed their goals. Dr. Gent enjoys giving back to his community by providing care to local high school athletic teams and feels that it is a privilege to care for young athletes who work hard to be the best they can be at their sport. In his spare time, Dr. Gent enjoys being active by playing basketball with friends, exercising, going on family bike rides and playing with his kids in the backyard.
