Horrible experience. Counselor didn't like my work so he stopped working with me. Threatened to send me across the state, opposite if what my release stated. He never read my work and threatened to not let me leave when my ride came to get me. So I told him I'm leaving today whether you let me or not. So he signed off on my work after never looking at it and let me go. Wasnt even a licensed counselor. Just a Counselor-in-training that thought he was a thug. He was a liar and a hack. This was when they were turning to Pathways. If I remembered the guys name, I'd call him out. But I don't. The place is garbage. The showers are filthy. Food sucks. I ate from the vending machine 75% of the time. Hopefully they'll move to updated buildings soon. That place needs help.

Horrible conditions. showers that are Luke warm at best. Dirty filthy toilets and BR floor. Staff members are only there to make a check and if your like me and have a dual diagnosis of bipolar disorder PTSD and a substance abuse problem that came after the PTSD bullsh*t they have no way or care to find you help for those problems. Even though they are listed as having a facility and program for that exact issue. There are only a couple of counselors so all the men and women do group together. Never one on one or even small groups to make it more personal to your recovery. And on day one even if your not fully detoxed you MUST get up at 530 and it's nonstop group exercise and chores til 10 PM no TV except on Sat and Sunday. And on those days there is absolutely no alternative activity than the TV so all you can think is I wanna get out and get high cuz I'm bored and depressed. Even if ur not a depressed person the boredom and the look of and overall setup of the living space will make u that way. I only recommend red river if the only other option is prison.

I absolutely loved the people there.

*When you're fed up and completely done with the drugs , then this is the place to be . Yes i had a very hard time the first couple of weeks, but I owe them my life. Change is scary but if you are willing to fight for your freedom of drugs then you will LOVE this place. Alot of people cant except tough love or they cant handle it . If your not ready for rehab i suggest you get ready for hurt, pain and disappointment. These people at Red River care about what happens to you. Dont waste their time if you cant hack it! Thank you Red River!!!! For helping me find my awesome future!!

I entered this facility with more than chemical dependency issues; I also had medical issues and have never seen such an unsympathetic staff in my life. If you didn't go in with diabetes or high blood pressure that they already were aware of and then had issues come up and felt you needed your blood pressure taken or your temp--they treated you as if you were a hypocodraic and just seeking medication.

I later found that I had been put on meds from my personal doctor before entering that were totally the opposite of what I should have been taking for a condition that I have been diagnosed with since 1998 and could and been deadly to me if it were not caught by another doctor after I left Red River.

Another issue is assignments given to clients that their counselors never review really care less about what your issues were that really your reasons for using..

Clients are frequently placed on what they call gag which means you can not speak--unless they think you make sense during speaking at meetings then they allow you to speak during them,Yet during rules and rights you are told you have the right to exchange mail with pisoners because those were your legal rihts. Well last time I checked Americans had the right to free speach ,but they have the right to tell you you are not allowed to talk. Go figure!

Anyway I would not recommend this dump of an unfit

treatment center to anyone--they make you feel lower than the rock bottom you felt like you had hit to get you there.
