This three-year program falls under the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine and features 18 residents, six in each year of the program. It has graduated 137 physicians, with 70 percent remaining in Louisiana to practice medicine.

- Emergency CareRapides Urgent Care, formerly Rapides After Hours, provides walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries. Conditions treated include ear and eye infections, fever, minor cuts that may need stitches, possible broken bones or simple fractures, minor skin infections, severe sore throat, sprains and strains, vomiting and diarrhea, and work related injuries. The state of the art facility is equipped with advanced technology including digital X-ray and an electronic medical records system.
- ElectrocardiogramWe are located in the Outpatient Plaza at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Our hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. All scheduled exams, X-rays and EKG will be offered during those hours. Laboratory services will be offered from 7:00am to 4:30pm

RRMC is one of six Tulane-affiliated hospitals that offer ophthalmology residency training. Tulane has five residents in each class of its three-year program, and the residents rotate through its residency hospitals. This program is part of the HP Long Clinics that provide access to health care services to uninsured and underinsured in Central Louisiana.
- GynecologyThe Tulane Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic opened in 2015 and is part of the Tulane University School of Medicine. RRMC is one of four rotation sites for the Tulane Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. It is staffed by two attending physicians and a rotation of residents. This program is part of the HP Long Clinics that provide access to health care services to uninsured and underinsured in Central Louisiana.

- GastroenterologyThe Specialty Clinic at Rapides Women's and Children's Hospital offers pediatric specialties for pulmonology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, hematology-oncology, and neurology. The clinic is located on the fourth floor of the Medical Pavilion at Rapides Women's and Children's Hospital.
- Cancer CareRapides Regional Medical Center was recognized in several categories for patient care in the 2022 Quality Awards from CareChex, a division of Quantros. In Medical Excellence, RRMC ranked in the Top 100 in the nation in Coronary Bypass Surgery and Gall Bladder Removal, and it ranked in the Top 10 percent nationally in those categories along with Hip Fracture Care. In addition, CareChex ranked RRMC No. 1 in the state in Coronary Bypass Surgery. Other categories RRMC ranked in the Top 10 percent in the state were Cancer Care and Major Cardiac Surgery. In Patient Safety, RRMC ranked in the Top 100 nationally in Orthopedic Care, Pulmonary Care, Stroke Care and Women’s Health, and it ranked in the Top 10 percent nationally in those categories along with Cancer Care, Gall Bladder Removal and Heart Failure Treatment. - Mental HealthPlanning for weight loss surgery is like running a marathon. You would not just go out for a run, you would prepare for it. Weight loss surgery is generally safe, but that is because we take the time to educate and get you ready for surgery. Over the course of four to six months, you will meet with various doctors, including your weight loss surgeon and your primary care physician. You will have lab work drawn and additional pre-op testing. Specialty appointments, such as with a cardiologist or endocrinologist, may be necessary depending on your medical history. Based on the requirements of your insurance company, you will also meet with a mental health professional, a dietitian and an exercise specialist.

- X-Rays
- Nuclear MedicineNuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive material, a special camera and a computer to create images from inside your body. Nuclear medicine procedures can also show molecular activity in the body, which can help identify diseases early.
- MammographyMammography uses low-dose X-rays to detect cancer. The American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Medical Association (AMA) recommend annual mammograms for women over 40. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) suggests women with a family history (or personal history) of the disease discuss screening with their physician.
- Computed TomographyComputed tomography (CT) is a diagnostic imaging test used to obtain images of internal organs, bones and tissue. This imaging can be used to detect cancer and diagnose internal injuries in an outpatient, ER or trauma setting.
