For more than 30 years, Whiteshire Hamroc offers a suite of genetically advanced pork products to producers, both domestically and internationally. Based in Albion, Ind., its primary area of expertise includes herd health, genetics and environment. According to the registrations at the National Swine Registry (NSR), Whiteshire Hamroc is the largest recorder of Yorkshire and Duroc, and the second largest recorder of Landrace swine in the United States. The firm uses a combination of genetic technologies, including Herdsman, STAGES and real-time scanning with phenotypic selection to improve its genetics and build seedstock. In addition to its purebred herds of Yorkshire, Landrace and Duroc, it produces Yorkshire-Landrace parent stock gilts and hybrid terminal boars.
