The Marillac Family Shelter, a part of the St. Catherine's Center for Children, offers an emergency housing program for homeless families. Its Marillac Homeless Family Program develops independent living skills and serve as a guide towards family empowerment. The center has more than 20 apartment-style units. The Marillac Family Shelter also provides health care, case management, recreational and transportation services. It operates a pantry and maintenance department. The center also has a child care area. The Marillac Family Shelter s Empowerment Project is a program that offers trauma counseling and family care coordination solutions. Founded in 1886, the St. Catherine's Center for Children is a Catholic agency that is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany.
