The Albany County Department of Human Resources maintains a division of personnel services that administers payroll, employee benefits, workers' compensation, health and safety, retirement, staff development and training functions. It also has a division of employee relations that is responsible for negotiations and the administration of various collective bargaining agreements, as well as union, nonunion employee grievances and arbitration cases. The Albany County Department of Human Resources additionally operates a division of affirmative action that is responsible for directing the provisions of several federal, state and local employment discrimination laws and statues, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, County Sexual Harassment policy and Equal Opportunity Law. It is located in Albany, N.Y.
