Founded in 1981, the Colonie Senior Service Centers, also known as CSSC, is one of the leading independent, community-based nonprofit corporations that provides support service for senior citizens in Colonie, N.Y. The organization provides transportation services for medical appointments, pharmacy visits, shopping, social activities and various errands. It provides preventive programs that include services to cope with osteoporosis, arthritis, hypertension and age-related challenges. The Colonie Senior Service Centers additionally offers various arthritis exercise classes and wellness programs. The organization develops, owns, and operates more than 300 independent living apartment homes that provide independent living options for senior citizens. It also offers meal services.
