Cyotherapy: Method of freezing the outside of the eye next to retinal tear. The tissue bonds together sealing the tear.Scleral Buckle Surgery: Surgical procedure in which a flexible band (Scleral Buckle) is placed around the eye to keep the retina in place.Pneumatic Retinopexy: Procedure where a gas bubble is injected into the vitreous space to flatten the retina in a retinal detachment or displace subretinal blood. Laser or cryotherapy will also be applied in retinal detachment cases. Vitrectomy: Surgical procedure performed to clear blood or debris from the eye, to remove scar tissue, or to alleviate traction on the retina. Common surgies for vitrectomy include macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage (bleeding in the eye), advanced diabetic retinopathy, ocular inflammation or infection, and post-cataract events requiring retinal intervention. Photocoagulation Laser: Laser treatment uses highly focused beam of light that can be aimed precisely through the pupil to the retina. It seals leaking blood vessels and keeps abnormal blood vessel growth from spreading.Photodynamic Laser (PDT): This procedure is for vision loss caused by abnormal blood vessels called Choroidal Neovascularization.
