Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School provides educational lessons to more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers academic courses in several subjects, such as reading, language arts, math, social studies, science, health, and physical, art, music and character education. Its additional educational programs include reading intervention, early intervention program, reading first, A+ learning, family life, and computer and science lab. It also offers an after-school remedial education program for students who need extra attention. The elementary school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Georgia Accrediting Commission. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School is based in Albany, Ga.
