Established in 1993, SummaCare offers a wide range of health plans, including health maintenance and dental and vision plans. It provides various services in an 18-county service area in northeastern Ohio through network of over 6,000 providers and 30 hospitals. It offers various clinical practice guidelines in neonatal, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and stroke, hypertension, heart failure, depression and asthma. It also provides educational programs that are designed to prevent illness and improve the quality of life of individuals suffering from illness. SummaCare is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for their commercial Health Maintenance Organization, Medicaid and Medicare plans. It additionally offers customer services that provide various treatment guidelines. It is located in Akron, Ohio.
