Founded in 1853, St. Vincent Elementary is a community school that serves more than 240 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. It conducts classes in reading, writing, religion, Spanish, literature, physical education, music, math, science, English, social studies, computer applications and language arts. The school provides after-school care programs to assist students with homework and outdoor activities. It additionally offers accelerated reader and special education programs for gifted and talented students. The school maintains a library that stocks books, periodicals and newspapers. It also operates a parent-teacher association that encourages parental involvement in children s education.
