Established in 1976, Ardmore is a private, nonprofit agency that provides alternatives to institutional living for people with developmental disabilities. The agency, located in Akron, Ohio, operates small homes and foster care homes. It provides case work support to individuals who live alone, with roommates and spouses. It also conducts a variety of vocational and educational day programs. Its home coordinators and staff are trained to provide supervision, behavior management intervention and medical assessment. Additionally, the agency conducts various community activities. Ardmore is a member of the National Association of Residential Providers for Adults with Autism. The agency also offers residential services for the elderly people.
