Acworth Police Department ensures the safety of citizens by providing law enforcement services in Acworth, Ga. The department consists of two main divisions, including patrol and headquarter operations. The department, through its community oriented policing program, offers residence checks of homes, when the residents are away on vacations and business trips and assists in forming neighborhood watch programs. Its patrol cars are equipped with cameras and video systems for recording traffic stops made by police officers. Its headquarter division is responsible for collecting, filing and final disposition of all reports and required paperwork of the department. Its citizens' police academy program encourages residents to attend a modified version of the standard basic mandate course required for certification of law enforcement officers.
