Doctors should be honest when they say they accept a certain type of insurance. And if they are going to have a nurse practitioner then she should know about the policies that the doctor would refuse to provide services for a procedure because of your insurance. When I called to make an appointment about a procedure for birth-control that they said they could perform in office, they told me that because of mine insurance they could not provide the procedure, even though I offered to pay additionally to what my insurance covered. The receptionist told me that the doctor said I would have to find a different gynecologist even though I have waited a month and a half for the original appointment. So ladies if you are on Tricare or any other military/government insurance, want an appointment that you don't have to schedule at least a month ahead of time, or actually want to see the doctor, I would suggest that you find a different gynecologist.
